The strategic location of our facility in Beverly Hills offers certain advantages and unique possibilities. Just moments from Rodeo Drive, minutes from Venice beach and Hollywood, form meets function and art meets Wall Street. In the development of all of our projects, we inevitably have to ask “what if .. ”

What better place to inspire, motivate and push the design envelope than Beverly Hills, the Mecca of marketable, modern, high-end, late-breaking innovation?

    Design Philosophy

    Monday, March 17th, 2008

Radi Design is a design consultancy; we provide expertise in all phases of design, beyond just creating a “sexy” exterior shell.  While being able to conceptualize a design is certainly an important first step for any industrial designer, we recognize that design extends much further than that. A real designer knows how to make a product that will succeed in the marketplace.  This means working within a real budget, with real time constraints, with real functional requirements, and with real manufacturing processes. We believe that these “realities” make design more challenging, but also more rewarding.

We approach each client with a fresh eye, adapting our design strategy to meet the specific requirements for that particular project.  There is no “magic formula” that results in a perfect design, every time—there is only the constant striving to create a product that is best suited to the client, the market, and the consumer. In order to do that, we try to understand the entire context for the design, from its place in a company’s brand strategy to its tooling in the factory to its future role in a consumer’s everyday life.  By incorporating these elements into the design process, we are able to produce work that is relevant, intelligent, and, of course, aesthetically pleasing—real products for the real world.

“..relevant, intelligent, and, of course, aesthetically pleasing—real products for the real world.”

    ROBERT RADI

Robert Radi is a tenacious and eclectic professional with a proven track record of over 18 years of experience in the consumer product industry. Radi is a critical thinker with an exceptional ability to deliver innovative strategic design solutions…

Robert Radi grew up in Northern Italy, borne into a rich tradition of design and invention within his family lineage. He moved to the United States some 19 years ago and has gone on to achieve considerable acclaim by generating commercially successful designs, worthy of a string of Design Awards and of Design and Utility Patents. As a third generation designer Radi takes his role in design very seriously. Through his work, Radi has become one of the key forces behind the evolution of modern product design and development. In 1993, armed with the conviction that any object is worthy of design, Radi established his design studio in Beverly Hills, California at the young age of 22.

Since then his unique design signature has been recognized by several USA and International brands, that have constantly engaged the talent of Robert Radi to give that unique edge to everyday products. Radi’s entire body of work demonstrates his attention to detail, his unique sense of styling, but also his ability to generate original and time-enduring concepts for consumer products. His designs have a proven track record in generating substantial consumer attention and sales.

Educated in Product Design and Development in Italy and the United States Robert Radi has served as a part-time professor at Otis College of Art and Design from 1997 to 2005 teaching Product Design.

Robert Radi successfully completed the Executive Leadership program at Cornell University – S.C. Johnson Graduate School of Management. He was subsequently admitted to the rigorous Presidential and Key Executive MBA program at Pepperdine University – Graziadio School of Business and Management. The Presidential and Key Executive MBA is the only program of its kind in the nation — offered exclusively for executive visionaries and “C-level” business leaders.

Radi has over fifteen  years of experience in designing products and brand identities for mass and limited production, with focus on beauty & cosmetics, personal care products, household, eyewear, consumer products, consumer electronics, aftermarket automotive, sporting goods, office, and DRTV products. (Link: Portfolio)

Since 2002, Mr. Radi has received several awards and recognitions for his work, including Ten Good Design™ Awards, Two ADI Design Index 2004, the “Oggetti IN” Award, and very recently the DesignPreis 2006 Nomination. (Link: Awards)

In 2006 the creativity and design of Robert Radi, has been recognized in an editorial project by Fusion Publishing (Los Angeles – Stuttgart). The beautifully executed book celebrates the inspired work of 61 pioneering designers who represent the new American generation.
In 2005, Robert Radi launched his Limited Edition Eyewear line, still one of his ongoing pride and joy and it is available at http://www.robertradi.com
